Times of Israel Clarifies Headline About Attack Against Israeli Vehicle ‘In Gaza’

Following communication from CAMERA’s Israel office, The Times of Israel yesterday clarified a headline which had inaccurately stated: “Palestinians set off bomb against IDF, vehicle in Gaza; army retaliates.”

While the headline located the vehicle “in Gaza,” the article itself stated:

The army said the bulldozer was located on the Gaza side of the security fence, but within the buffer zone that Israel still considers to be formally part of its territory.

Furthermore, IDF spokesman  Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus confirmed to CAMERA that the attack took place “in Israel. West of the fence, ie on the Gazan side, but still inside Israel.”

In response to CAMERA’s communication, Times of Israel editors commendably clarified the headline to more accurately state: “Palestinians set off bomb near IDF vehicle in Gaza buffer zone; army retaliates.”

CAMERA commends The Times of Israel for its follow up.
