Wall Street Journal Corrects Map Calling West Bank 'Palestine'


CAMERA staff have prompted corrections at the Wall Street Journal for inaccurate usage of the term "Palestine." A map appearing in an Oct. 8 News Hub broadcast wrongly identified the West Bank as "Palestine." We first noted the error in our Snapshots blog.

CAMERA commends Journal editors for the prompt removal of the map, and the publication of a correction, which appears at the very beginning of the boradcast, still available online. The inaccurate map that originally appeared follows:

In addition, a caption introducing the broadcast likewise incorrectly referred to the Gaza Strip as Palestine. In response to communication from CAMERA, editors have also corrected that erroneous wording. The current language, and the correction, follow:
