CAMERA Prompts CNN.com Correction on Jerusalem

Following communication from CAMERA staff, CNN editors corrected a Nov. 6 online article which had wrongly stated that Israel captured Jerusalem in 1967.  The article, attributed to CNN wire staff, had originally reported:

After CAMERA staff pointed out that Israel was in control of the western part of the city since its independence in 1948 and captured only the eastern part in 1967, editors changed the text to the following:

Michael Schwartz and Kareem Khadder, who contributed to this news report, also contributed to yesterday's highly distorted and selective account of Gaza area violence. CAMERA commends CNN editors for correcting the Jerusalem error. (In 2008, the International Herald Tribune corrected the identical error.)
