• “Israel has an absolute right to deal with its security interests.”
 
“This would end tomorrow if Hamas agreed to form a government with the Palestinian Authority on the conditions the international community has set up.”
 
• “Israel has a right to know — they’re at war with Hamas — whether or not arms are being smuggled in.”
 
• The Israelis say “This ship, if you divert slightly north, you can unload it and we’ll get the stuff into Gaza. So what’s the big deal here?” (emphasis added)
 

 

 
June 18, 2010: This video, taken on board the Mavi Marmara before the violence, shows the IHH leader Bulent Yildirim and Dr. Mohamed al-Baltagi, Secretary General and member of the Muslim Brotherhood faction in the Egyptian Parliament, exhorting  “activists” to confront and use violence against any Israeli soldiers who come on board the ship. Filmed in the front row was Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, radical head of the northern faction of the Israeli Islamic Movement. June 5, 2010: Unedited radio transmissions between the IDF and the Gaza Flotilla from May 31, including statements from flotilla radio operators that Israelis should “go back to Auschwitz” and that “we’re helping Arabs going against the US, don’t forget 9-11 guys.” Also featured in the transmissions is Huwaida Arraf, cofounder, with her husband Adam Shapiro, of the radical International Solidarity Movement (ISM).
 

 

 
June 2, 2010: Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holds a press conference to present his country’s position on the Gaza Flotilla incident. Netanyahu underscored his points with some of the video footage showing “activists” preparing for battle and then attacking Israelis soldiers with stun grenades, iron bars and knives.   
 

 

 
June 2, 2010: Video taken by “activists” aboard the Mavi Marmara show them throwing a stun grenade at Israeli soldiers who were in a boat alongside the vessel. The “activists” also threw down heavy objects at the soldiers.

June 1, 2010, UK Channel 4: Retired British Marine Officer Peter Cook is interviewed about the Israeli action against the Gaza Flotilla, pointing out that the soldiers cannot have been shooting as they fast roped down to the deck of the ship, since they had both hands on the ropes, and that what appeared to be rifles held by some of the soldiers were in fact paint ball guns, a crowd control tool rather than a weapon. Asked, if he had to take control of a ship, would he choose to be armed as the Israelis were, he smiled and simply said “I wouldn’t want to.”


 

 
 
June 1, 2010: An Israeli Naval commando, whose arm was broken in the effort, recounts how he and his comrades were attacked by what some have called “peace activists” as they dropped onto the deck of the Mavi Marmara.


 

 
June 1, 2010: After being checked by Israeli inspectors aid from the Gaza flotilla is loaded onto trucks in Israel for delivery to Gaza. The amount of aid from the flotilla was less than half of what gets delivered to Gaza through Israel every week.
 

 

 
Israeli Navy warns Gaza-bound vessels to change course, and offers to allow them to offload cargo in Israel for delivery to Gaza. Answer is “Negative, our destination is Gaza.”
