CAMERA Prompts Corrected AFP Article

An AFP article today incorrectly stated that in September Israel completely cut off the Palestinian territories. CAMERA communicated with editors, and the erroneous information was removed in an updated version of the story later in the day. The two versions of the article follow:

CAMERA Prompts BBC Correction on Rafah

As noted by CAMERA's blog yesterday, a BBC caption on the "In pictures" section incorrectly stated that Palestinians "took back" control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. CAMERA staff notified BBC editors about the error, and the caption was corrected. The error and correction follow:

CAMERA Prompts Philadelphia Inquirer and New London Day Corrections

After a news report in the Philadelphia Inquirer wrongly claimed that Gaza has been surrounded by a fence since 1967 and the New London Day published an op-ed falsely charging Israeli troops with killing Palestinians in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps, CAMERA alerted the newspapers to the errors and prompted them to publish corrections.
