UPDATED: CAMERA Staff, Members Prompt NPR Correction

CAMERA staff and members prompted an NPR correction concerning the extent of destruction incurred by the Jenin refugee camp in the 2002 Israeli operation.Ombudsman Jeffrey Dvorkin discusses the error and correction on the network's Web site. A CAMERA staff member provided NPR with a European Union statistic from a United Nations report disproving McCarthy's claim that the camp had been "largely destroyed." BACKGROUNDER: A Study in Palestinian Duplicity and Media Indifference

Palestinian spokesmen Nabil Sha'ath, Hassan Abdel Rahman, Yasser Abed Rabbo, Ahmed Abdel Rahman and Saeb Erakat took the Western media for a ride in April 2002, loudly proclaiming Israel had committed a "massacre" in Jenin.  Yet, despite copious evidence of their blatant lying, the credibility of these spokesmen with the American press is apparently unaffected.
