CAMERA Prompts Correction to Gaza Population Error in San Diego Union-Tribune
CAMERA staff elicited a correction to a San Diego Union-Tribune Op-Ed by Miko Peled that wrongly claimed Gaza is the most densely populated place in the world.
Accuracy and accountability are among the most important tenets of journalism. In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. CAMERA obtained a correction in the San Diego Union-Tribune regarding a Nov. 28, 2004 commentary by Khalid Turaani in which he erroneously asserted that refugee camps in the Gaza Strip are the world's most densely populated places.
