M.J. Rosenberg argues in the Los Angeles Times that “Israel can't be delegitimized, and no one is trying to do so.” In fact, one does not have to look beyond the LA Times Op-Ed pages to find a slew of columns doing just that. 
With an error-filled column by Tony Judt, an outspoken opponent of the Jewish State, the New York Times chose to feature an ideologue instead of a jurist to write about the legality of Israeli settlements. Whom did the New York Times choose to write an op-ed about the controversy over claims by two academics that the "Israel Lobby" distorts U.S. foreign policy to the detriment of U.S. interests? None other than Tony Judt, who has called Israel an "anachronism" which should be done away with.
"Israel, in short, is an anachronism" charges Tony Judt in the Los Angeles Times and the New York Review of Books in arguing for the elimination of the Jewish state in favor of a binational secular state. He falsely singles out Israel as being the only modern, democratic nation based on "ethno-religious criteria."
