What The NY Times, Telegraph Missed on Netanyahu Government Guidelines
The New York Times and The Telegraph point to Netanyahu's new government guidelines which don't mention a Palestinian state as evidence of his intransigence. But for decades, successive governments, including those who negotiated, didn't mention a Palestinian state in their guidelines.
"[T]he truth is that we are a racist country, from the prime minister on down to the grassroots citizen," opines Tal Niv in Haaretz, castigating Israelis for their supposed lack of praise for Lassana Bathily, the black Muslim immigrant who saved Jews during the Paris attack.
Haaretz's Zvi Bar'el warns of a "racist" bill which he says will bring Israel to a state ruled by Jewish law. But the language to which he so objects is nearly identical to what appears in Israel's founding document.
Haaretz was the latest media outlet to fall prey to false claims of BDS success. Veolia's move to close its bus routes in Israel was part of a business decision to globally cut transportation investments.
