CAMERA’s New Six-Day War Resource Is Online

Many journalists and others interested in the Middle East are unfamiliar with important facts and context about the Six-Day War, and thus may mistakenly believe certain canards about the Arab-Israeli conflict.

One major canard, for example, is that the starting point of Mideast tensions is the “occupation” that began in 1967. This misperception leads to the flawed conclusion that the resolution of the tension can be achieved more or less simply by ending Israel’s presence in the territories. In fact, the conflict isn’t that simple. One of the important lessons from the Six-Day War is that the war, and the conflict as a whole, had begun well before Israel captured those territories.

It is our hope that by providing factual and detailed information, this Web site will help correct this and other such misperceptions while shedding light on this important event in Middle East history.
