CAMERA Prompts Hill Headline Correction on ‘Palestine’

After contact from CAMERA, The Hill has changed an inaccurate headline in the online version of its Jan. 23, 2017 article.

The dispatch by reporter Max Greenwood was initially titled “Obama administration released $221 million to Palestine in final hours.”

Yet, as CAMERA pointed out to Hill editors, “Palestine” is not a country and the Obama administration had, in fact, given money to the Palestinian Authority, the entity which rules the West Bank (Judea and Samaria).

The Hill quickly and commendably changed the headline to “Obama released $221 million to Palestinians in final hours.”
