DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & FUNDRAISING
CAMERA seeks a full-time strategic, creative, and mission-driven Director of Development & Fundraising to lead our national development and fundraising efforts. The Director is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports to the CEO, develops and implements the organization’s donor development and fundraising strategy, and manages its team of fundraising professionals.
The ideal candidate is an experienced nonprofit fundraising professional who is an informed and committed Zionist, believes deeply in our mission, and is prepared to advocate for it and CAMERA publicly and professionally.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to the Boston area.
Position Summary
The Director of Development & Fundraising is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, executing, and scaling a comprehensive national fundraising strategy. This individual will lead and manage a geographically distributed fundraising team across key markets, including New York, Florida, California, and Boston, while also evaluating expansion into additional regions.
The Director will play a central role in cultivating major donor relationships, identify new potential major donors, grow the organization’s donor base, maintain donor involvement and enthusiasm, ensuring excellence in all aspects of development operations, and achieving fundraising goals. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align development and fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Identify opportunities to expand the organization’s donor base across new and existing markets.
- Evaluate and recommend expansion of fundraising staff into additional geographic regions.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align development strategies with organizational vision and priorities.
- Interact with the Board of Directors in development and fundraising activities and as part of the Board of Director’s Development Committee.
Team Management
- Supervise and mentor a team of remote fundraisers located in New York, Florida, California, and the New England fundraiser situated in Boston.
- Establish clear performance goals, metrics, and accountability systems for fundraising staff.
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven, and mission-aligned team culture.
- Work with staff responsible for entering, analyzing, and managing donor related data in Salesforce.
Major Gifts & Donor Relations
- Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and high-capacity prospects.
- Devote up to 20% of the time to major gift development and fundraising.
- Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with key supporters.
- Develop tailored engagement strategies for major donors.
Events & Engagement
- Oversee the planning and execution of virtual and in-person donor events nationwide.
- Ensure events effectively deepen donor relationships and support fundraising goals.
Operations
- Monitor and analyze fundraising performance and provide regular reports to the CEO.
- Expand the organization’s use of direct mail, including selection and management of a direct mail vendor.
- Oversee the organization’s planned/estate giving efforts.
- Collaborate with staff across the organization, including the Communications and Marketing team, on the development of print and digital materials to support development and fundraising efforts.
- Work closely with staff to ensure accurate and timely gift processing, acknowledgment, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Salesforce team to maintain data integrity, produce reports, and optimize CRM utilization.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a Jewish/Israeli nonprofit fundraising program and team.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to scale fundraising operations.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts, including 6-figure and 7-figure donations, and achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed and remote teams.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage high-level donors.
- Experience in planning and managing donor events, both in person and virtually.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Strong writing and public speaking skills.
- Deep understanding of and commitment to the organization’s mission and pro-Israel advocacy.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- Understanding of Middle East and Israel history, issues, and current events.
- Willing to travel in the United States to cultivate and maintain donor relationships, attend donor events, and represent CAMERA at meetings, events, and conferences.
Location Requirement
Strong preference for candidates based in the Boston area or willing to relocate. (CAMERA’s headquarters is in the Boston area.) Will consider remote work for the right applicant if he/she does not live in the Boston area.
Staff in the Boston and Jerusalem areas work on hybrid schedules. Staff elsewhere in the United States, Israel, and United Kingdom work remotely.
Compensation
Salary range of $160,000 – $220,000, commensurate with the qualifications and experience. Final salary will in part reflect whether the successful applicant works on a hybrid schedule in CAMERA’s headquarters in the Boston area, or remotely.

HUMAN RESOURCES
CAMERA seeks a highly experienced, self-directed Human Resources Director to establish and operate the full HR function. This is a standalone role responsible for end-to-end HR operations, including payroll and benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who can independently design, implement, and manage HR processes with minimal oversight.
Location: Massachusetts, three days per week in office.

Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle HR Ownership
- Serve as the sole HR owner for CAMERA, independently managing all HR functions.
- Build, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation from the ground up.
- Own employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, records management, and personnel files.
Payroll, Time & Benefits (ADP Workforce Now)
- Administer payroll, PTO, and time tracking in ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
- Ensure accurate processing, approvals, and compliance with wage & hour laws.
- Manage benefits administration (health, dental, vision, leaves of absence, PFML/medical leave).
- Act as primary liaison with ADP and benefits brokers/vendors.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain employee handbook, policies, and required postings.
- Manage audits, documentation, terminations, and sensitive employee matters with rigor.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Independently handle employee relations issues, investigations, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
- Coach managers on documentation, corrective action, and policy adherence.
- Design and manage performance review processes and manager training.
Recruiting & Workforce Support
- Partner with leadership on hiring needs and workforce planning.
- Manage recruiting coordination, offer letters, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
- Maintain job descriptions and support compensation alignment.
Systems, Process & Infrastructure
- Own HR systems configuration and adoption (ADP/WFN).
- Build scalable HR processes, templates, and internal controls.
- Develop HR reporting (headcount, turnover, PTO usage, compliance tracking).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR experience in a generalist or HR manager capacity.
- Prior experience as a standalone HR professional or in a small organization with full HR ownership strongly preferred.
- Deep working knowledge of payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, and employment law.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (or similar HRIS required; ADP strongly preferred).
- Proven ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and manage sensitive situations with discretion.

U.S. CAMPUS ADVISOR
CAMERA seeks a full-time Campus Advisor to join its growing team of young professionals providing support and guidance to students, including those encountering anti-Israel propaganda and in need of information and training in effective pro-Israel activism.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing CAMERA Fellows and CAMERA on Campus Coalition Groups on campuses in the North America.
- Helping students to organize educational events on campus.
- Guiding students in writing op-eds for various news outlets.
- Monitoring specified campuses for anti-Israel activity and assisting students in addressing challenges.
- Helping recruit for and implement CAMERA’s Annual Student Conference.
- Attending various campus-related conferences.
- Helping implement effective measures to expand CAMERA’s presence on campuses. The position will be based in our Boston office.

MARKETING MANAGER
CAMERA seeks a full-time strategic, creative, and mission-driven Marketing Manager to grow and manage our marketing program, elevate and expand our brand, sharpen our messaging, support our fundraising program, and amplify our reach. The Marketing Manager will work closely with other members of the Communications and Marketing Department, the Development (fundraising) Department, and program managers throughout the organization, to translate our work and impact into compelling marketing materials and communications that mobilize supporters, grow our base, and broaden our brand recognition.

Responsibilities of the Position
Brand Strategy & Message Development
- Expand and manage within the Communications and Marketing Department an organization-wide marketing program.
- Develop and implement an organization-wide, comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
- Refine and strengthen brand positioning across the organization’s communications platforms (publications, bulletins, website, social media, email, press statements and releases, podcasts, etc.)
- Ensure consistent, compelling, and timely messaging that reflects our work and the urgency and importance of our mission.
- Translate complex media analysis, current events, and policy issues into accessible, persuasive narratives that are delivered across our many communications pathways and platforms.
Fundraising & Development Support
- Partner closely with the Development Department to support the creation of high-impact fundraising materials and messages, including:

- Print and digital materials for use by the Development Department in annual and special campaigns and targeted fundraising
