CAMERA’s Israel office this week prompted correction after an Algemeiner photo caption mistakenly referred to a deadly terror attack in Kiryat Arba as “attempted.” The erroneous caption (screenshot at left) had stated: “Scene after the attempted Kiryat Arba attack.” In fact, as the accompanying article itself made clear, the Palestinian terror attack succeeded:
Muhammad Al-Jabar carried out a shooting near Hebron last October in which an Israeli, Ronen Hanania, was killed and several others wounded. The terrorist opened fire on Hanania and his son as they left a grocery store owned by a Palestinian Arab near the settlement of Kiryat Arba.
In response to communication from CAMERA, Algemeiner editors commendably corrected the caption, which now rightly notes: “Scene after a terrorist attack in Kiryat Arba.”
