MS NOW’s Ali Velshi managed to show a despicable disregard for the lives of Israeli civilians by erasing over a thousand terrorist attacks in Israel in his Feb. 22 weekend report, when he said, “in the last several years, all of the violence in the West Bank has been settler violence on Palestinians.”

Between 2020 and 2025, 1,080 terrorist attacks were carried out in the West Bank and Jerusalem, while thousands more were thwarted. In 2025 alone, 25 people were killed in terrorist attacks in that area.
Since Velshi was either unaware, forgetful, or lying, here are some of the most noteworthy attacks that occurred in this period:
On Nov. 21, 2021, a Hamas terrorist shot and killed an Israeli-South African dual national in Jerusalem’s Old City.
On Nov. 15, 2022, a Palestinian terrorist killed three Israeli civilians in a combined ramming and stabbing attack. The next week, on Nov. 23, twin bomb explosions at Jerusalem bus stops, coordinated by Palestinian terrorists, killed a 16-year-old Israeli Canadian dual national and wounded at least 14 others.
On Jan. 27, 2023, a Palestinian terrorist shot and killed seven civilians near a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood. Just two weeks later, on Feb. 10, a ramming attack in east Jerusalem killed two civilians, including a six-year-old boy.
On Apr. 7, 2023, three members of an Israeli British family, including the wife and two daughters, were murdered in a West Bank shooting attack while driving to Israel’s north for their Passover holiday. Just two months later, on June 20, four Israelis, including two 17-year-olds, were shot and killed by Palestinian terrorists outside Eli, in the West Bank, while at a hummus restaurant and gas station.
On Sept. 8, 2025, six Israeli civilians were killed after Palestinian terrorists opened fire after boarding a bus at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.
This outrageous erasure not only dishonors the memory of the deceased and their families but also invalidates the experience of millions of Israeli citizens who consider possible attacks whenever going out, change their behavior, or who have PTSD symptoms due to the prevalence of Palestinian terror across the country. By Velshi’s account, Israelis are just paranoid.
The Palestinian Authority’s disregard for the Oslo Accords
In the same breath as this remark, Velshi falsely claimed that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority (PA) have “supported” the Oslo Accords since their signing.
The Oslo Accords were a series of agreements signed in 1993 and 1995 between the PLO and Israel designed to initiate a peace process and establish Palestinian self-governance. They led to the creation of the PA and set a goal for the implementation of a two-state solution within five years.
These agreements obliged the PLO, and thereafter, the PA, to recognize Israel’s right to exist in peace and security; renounce terrorism and violence; and prevent incitement and hostile propaganda. The PA has completely failed at all these obligations.
As the Palestinian signatory to the Oslo Accords and PA president from 1994 to 2004, Yasser Arafat publicly denounced terrorist attacks while simultaneously releasing convicted terrorists from jails and appointing some of them to senior positions within his cabinet and Gaza intelligence services.

In a letter entered into the Congressional Record on April 16, 1997, lawmakers credited Yasser Arafat with failing to combat terrorist activity in PA administered territory, arguing that Arafat’s failure is the greatest threat to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
The PLO never formally amended its 1968 Charter to remove clauses calling for Israel’s destruction, though the Palestine National Council publicly voted in support of removing them twice.
The PA education system continues to promote jihad and martyrdom, glorify terrorism, incite antisemitism, and reject peacemaking and a two-state solution.
The PA’s support for terror is enshrined in its policy of paying Palestinians imprisoned in Israel for terrorism or the families of terrorists killed during attacks, infamously known as “pay-for-slay.” In this policy, the more severe the crime, the higher the paycheck.
The current PA President, Mahmoud Abbas, has followed in Arafat’s footsteps of publicly condemning terrorist attacks while privately bankrolling them.
Furthermore, since the Oslo Accords were signed, scores of the PA’s security forces have been found doubling as terrorists, and some have carried out attacks.
If Velshi were a responsible reporter, he would hold both Israeli and Palestinian leadership to account. Instead, he buries the crimes of Palestinian terrorists and leadership to promote a one-sided narrative of Palestinian suffering, desecrating the murdered Israelis and invalidating the experiences of millions of Israelis in doing so.
