CEI is part of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA), a media monitoring, research and membership organization devoted to promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Israel and the Middle East. Founded in 2021, CEI exposes anti-Israel and anti-Jewish bias in educational materials, curricula and programming. The institute works to educate the public and redress abuses. It includes three departments – one that focuses on K-12 schools, one that deals with issues in academia and one that directly assists students on campus. CEI provides guidance and resources to students, parents, educators, concerned citizens and communities.
Job Overview
The CAMERA Education Institute is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Media Manager with marketing and graphic design experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting accurate online information and countering online misinformation related to the Middle East. The Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies to engage audiences, amplify our messaging, and foster meaningful conversations.
Responsibilities
1. Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with CEI’s mission and goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging platforms to optimize outreach efforts.
2. Content Creation:
- Create compelling content, including graphics, across various social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the research team to ensure accuracy and relevance in messaging.
- Oversee the development and implementation of CEI’s newsletter.
3. Community Management:
- Engage with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
- Build and nurture relationships with influencers, organizations, and followers.
4. Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor social media channels for relevant news, trends, and conversations.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on social media metrics.
5. Advocacy Campaigns:
- Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote CEI’s initiatives and events.
- Mobilize online communities to participate in advocacy efforts.
6. Crisis Management:
- Actively manage and respond to crises or controversies on social media.
- Implement strategies to mitigate potential reputational risks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with social media marketing.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Middle East issues and a commitment to promoting accuracy in media reporting.
