ESPN Erases Evil

ESPN, the popular sports news network found in more than 7 million American homes, is completely out of its league when it comes to reporting on Hamas’ ISIS-like evil atrocities.

In 22 communities across southern Israel, hundreds of Hamas terrorists went on an Oct. 7 rampage, committing barbaric atrocities against Israeli civilians, deliberately targeting women and children, killing more than 1000 including children in front of parents and parents in front of children, mutilating and burning living children, raping countless young women attending a music festival, and taking more than 150 civilians hostage, including numerous mothers, elderly, small children and even babies.

It was the most devastating assault against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, with cruelty and dehumization matching that of the Nazi regime.

As President Joe Biden put it

You know, there are moments in this life — and I mean this literally — when the pure, unadulterated evil is unleashed on this world.

The people of Israel lived through one such moment this weekend.  The bloody hands of the terrorist organization Hamas — a group whose stated purpose for being is to kill Jews.

This was an act of sheer evil.

And yet this is how ESPN whitewashed events of the last week Oct 12 (“Lions LB Alex Anzalone relieved parents home from Israel safely“):
Sal and Judy Anzalone were in a Jerusalem hotel as Israel vowed an unprecedented offensive against Hamas after the Islamic militant group’s attack on the country Saturday. The war between Israel and Hamas has claimed at least 2,200 lives.
While writer Eric Woodyard cited Israel’s expected “unprecedented offensive” he gives no indication of the nature or scope of Hamas’ Nazi-like rampage. Surely Hamas’ trail of terror, atrocities, destruction, death, kidnappings is also “unprecedented”? Moreover, the report lumped together some 1300 Israeli casualties – almost all of them the butchered aforementioned civilians, along with the security forces who sought to save them – together with the Palestinian fatalities, most of them the Hamas terrorists who carried out or planned the atrocities.
CAMERA has contacted an ESPN executive to request redress of this grotesquely skewed and inadequate report. Stay tuned for any updates. If the sports network is not capable of adequately covering terrorism, it should stick to familiar turf.
