CAMERA's column responds to falsehoods and distortions in Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook's Op-Ed in the Los Angeles Times. 
An LA Times Op-Ed by Mousa Abu Marzook, identified only as "the deputy of the political bureau of Hamas" is full of outrageous falsehoods and inaccuracies which seek to justify the unjustifiable — the murder of innocent Israeli civilians. 
In an abridged version of a Los Angeles Times feature on Jerusalem, Columbus Dispatch editors expunged humanizing details about Israel, preserved those about Arabs, and deleted references to Arab responsibility for the city's de facto divisions. 
In July 2006, Los Angeles Times correctly reported that Hezbollah was the first to launch projectiles in last summer's war. Since then, the newspaper has twice refused to correct erroneous claims that Israel was the first to fire. 
In an apologia published by the Los Angeles Times, fugitive Israeli Arab parliamentarian Azmi Bishara likens himself to Alfred Dreyfus, the falsely accused French Jewish army officer. But Bishara is not a modern day Dreyfus. UCLA professor Saree Makdisi weighed in on the Israel/Hezbollah war with an LA Times Op-Ed. filled with false charges against Israel.
CAMERA staff elicited a correction from the Los Angeles Times today that Nahariya, the northern Israeli town where Samir Kuntar carried out a terrorist attack in 1979, is not a Jewish settlement. Beyond the factual error, Tempest's article was extremely one-sided, drawing a sympathetic, emotive picture of the "plight" of Samir Kuntar and his family, while completely ignoring that of his victims.
