NPR listeners, who are steeped in coverage critical of Israel's policy toward migrants, would be forgiven for knowing nothing of the startling number of African migrants raped, beaten and tortured by Egyptians. For NPR, this story is apparently not worth telling. 
After NPR fired Juan Williams, its leader Vivian Schiller defended her network, in part, by claiming that it's a purely private organization that gets essentially "zero" taxpayer funding. This claim is blatantly false – NPR could not survive without taxpayer funding. 
NPR news analyst Daniel Schorr brands Israel's blockade of Hamas a "blockade of hate," while colleague Sheera Frankel ignores Erdogan's endorsement of Hamas. Tilted Gaza reports ignore Israeli offers to deliver flotilla aid, including concrete, and Hamas' refusal. 
Although NPR coverage of Israel is not as slanted as it once was, recent examples of bias, like the piece on illegal construction in East Jerusalem by Lourdes Garcia-Navarro, show that old habits die hard. 
Some media coverage of the decision to award a Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson, who organized the 2001 UN conference on racism which turned into an anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hate fest, has been superficial. 
In a public meeting, NPR's Loren Jenkins, who previously linked Israel to Nazis, has faulted Israel alone for the Middle East impasse, charging it with using Gaza for "bombing target practice."

In journalism, half truths — otherwise known as errors of omission — can mislead the public almost as much as an outright lie. Terry Gross recently misled by conveying only part of what human rights groups have said about Gaza. 
Since there are no good arguments for the Palestinian rocket attacks against Israel, Palestinian spokesmen resort to fabrications to bolster their cause. They are joined by UNRWA's Karen Abu Zayd. 
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) has become the second member of Congress to remind the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that its attempt to upgrade objectivity and balance compliance must not inadvertently dilute the statute under which recipients like National Public Radio operate.
