Commenting on FoxNews after the Israeli attack against missile launchers in Qana which inadvertently killed 28 or more Lebanese civilians, United States Maj. Gen. Burton Moore, former head of Centcom, stated that contrary to many critics, Israel has been "very, very restrained" in its attacks.

BBC Headline Falsely Charges Beirut Airport “Destroyed”

BBC reports on the Israel/Hezbollah crisis link to a story about a Jordanian relief flight to Beirut with the false and misleading link headline "Mercy Mission: A Jordanian aid mission flies into Beirut airport, which has been destroyed." In fact, as even al-Jazeera reported, the Beirut airport has not been "destroyed" and has suffered relatively minor damage to its runways.

A BBC Fable

Early media coverage of Hizbullah's aggression against Israel presented a generally sound picture of cause and effect, of the terrorist group's agenda and of Israel's right to remove the menace to its people. The BBC, however, is a frequent exception.

A July 27 article in the New York Times about four UN officers killed in an outpost hit by Israeli fire ("U.N. Says It Protested to Israel for 6 Hours During Attack That Killed 4 Observers in Lebanon" by Warren Hoge), omitted crucial context about Hezbollah firing from or near UN positions.

NPR and IHT Corrected. Will Ha’aretz?

In an Op-Ed yesterday, Ha'aretz's Nehemia Shtrasler erroneously refers to the IDF as "the world's fifth largest" army. The Israeli army is not even the fifth largest in the Middle East, never mind the world. Other major media outlets have corrected this very same error, and CAMERA urges Ha'aretz to follow suit.

But when a July 22 ABC "World News Saturday" report on the Israeli bombing of television transmitters accuses Israel of controlling information "to sway public opinion," it is ABC which is controlling – and withholding – information.
