The BBC has admitted on Feb. 17, 2005 to airing an unsubstantiated allegation against Israel without fact checking it, and has apologized.

Accuracy and accountability are among the most important tenets of journalism. In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. Time’s Tony Karon Rewrites U.N. Resolution 242
Time.com senior editor Tony Karon wrongly suggests that U.N. Resolution 242 calls on Israel to withdraw to its 1967 boundaries. He cites the view of the Arab world and the "international community" to make his case, but ignores the explicit words of the resolution's drafters.
AP is 1 for 2 on Paul Garwood Corrections
The Associated Press may be bucking a recent trend of failing to correct factual errors. As a result of CAMERA's communication today with a senior editor regarding two errors in a Paul Garwood article, AP corrected a statistic on U.S. aid to Egypt. One other error still stands.
CAMERA Obtains San Diego Union-Tribune Correction on Refugee Camps
CAMERA obtained a correction in the San Diego Union-Tribune regarding a Nov. 28, 2004 commentary by Khalid Turaani in which he erroneously asserted that refugee camps in the Gaza Strip are the world's most densely populated places.
CAMERA Obtains NYT/IHT Correction on Palestinian Refugees
CAMERA obtained corrections in the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune regarding a Dec. 16, 2004 news analysis by Neil MacFarquhar which grossly inflated the number of Palestinian refugees inhabiting refugee camps since 1948.
The NPR Switch
NPR reporters are once again routinely misrepresenting the statements of Israeli spokesmen, inserting the term "militant" where the speaker has actually said "terrorist."
CAMERA Action Prompts Improvement at ABCnews.com
ABCnews.com features a permanent interactive item which provides background information on Hamas. The article had originally whitewashed the group's goals and sources of funding from abroad. Editors are to be commended for making the following changes after having heard from CAMERA staff.
LA Times ‘Correction’ on Binational State Op-Ed Further Misleads
Saree Makdisi, an English professor at UCLA, made falsified charges against Israel to bolster his case that the country is a racist, illegitimate state unworthy of existence. The Los Angeles Times' partial correction yesterday of distorted charges regarding the West Bank security barrier does not inform readers, but further misleads them.

The Daily Herald (Chicago area) published a tribute heaping praise on prominent individuals who passed away in the last year, among them Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin and Palestinian terrorist Abu Abbas.
