The Independent ran several columns expressing fury about the BBC Trust's ruling that Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen violated ethical guidelines — perhaps because the newspaper itself is guilty of the same sort of inaccurate, advocacy journalism.
The New York Times' unfair overemphasis on allegations of Israeli misdeeds relative to similar, and sometimes more credible, stories about Americans is, simply put, discrimination against the Jewish state.

In journalism, half truths — otherwise known as errors of omission — can mislead the public almost as much as an outright lie. Terry Gross recently misled by conveying only part of what human rights groups have said about Gaza. 
The United Nations humanitarian chief seems unaware that Hamas cynically uses the Western media — and humanitarian officials — to spread the misinformation it disseminates for propaganda purposes. 
As the media broadcast and discuss images of destruction in the Gaza Strip, it is essential that they recall, and alert the public to, Hamas's use of crowded and built up civilian areas as a base for attacking Israel.
