Questioning the Number of Civilian Casualties in Lebanon

The perception that Israel's response to Hezbollah attacks was disproportionate, and that indiscriminate force was aimed at the Lebanese population, was largely a result of media reports on the casualty breakdown in Lebanon. But there is plenty of reason to doubt often repeated claims that almost all Lebanese casualties were civilians.

Anti-Israel Agitation in the Lancet

In the July 29-August 4, 2006 issue of the Lancet, a British medical journal, is an article by Sharmila Devi entitled "Gaza crisis continues to worsen as all eyes turn to Lebanon," which promotes a distorted view of the situation in Gaza and fails to provide essential context relating to the boycott of aid to the Hamas-dominated government.

Guardian Publishes Seale’s Tirade Against Israel

The Guardian publishes an Op-Ed by Patrick Seale accusing Israel of conducting a ruthless operation in Gaza primarily aimed not at reducing the rocket attacks or freeing captured Israeli corporal Gilad Shalit but rather at squelching Palestinian moderates. The piece is riddled with unsubstantiated speculation, exaggerations, distorted language and false assertions.

More Terror Bias at NPR

A new analysis by CAMERA shows National Public Radio reporters and commentators continue to employ a double standard when reporting on terrorists and terror attacks in Israel versus terror attacks perpetrated elsewhere. When a bombing occurs that targets civilians in London, Istanbul, Sinai or Madrid, the perpetrators are routinely described as terrorists by NPR. However, the same is not true when an attack occurs in Israel and the perpetrators are Palestinians.
