Accuracy and accountability are among the most important tenets of journalism. In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. The following corrections are among the many prompted by CAMERA’s communication with reporters and editors.

 

BBC Arabic Removes False Claim About Excavation-Related Arrests

Following communication from CAMERA Arabic, BBC Arabic removes a news article's false claim that Israel often arrests members of the northern Islamic Movement for protesting against archaeological excavations in the vicinity of Temple Mount.

BBC Clarifies: Netanyahu Has Called Abbas Peace Partner

After CAMERA and its affiliate BBC Watch highlighted a falsehood in Lyse Doucet's interview of Shimon Peres, and after a reader filed a complaint with the BBC, the broadcaster appended a correction to their Web site.

BBC Corrects False Report

BBC's False ReportOn March 7, 2008 the BBC aired video of Israel destroying the home of the terrorist who had just murdered eight yeshiva students. But the house has not been demolished, and on March 13 the BBC corrected the report.
