Accuracy and accountability are among the most important tenets of journalism. In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. The following corrections are among the many prompted by CAMERA’s communication with reporters and editors.
After communication with CAMERA, the Associated Press revised a photo caption which grossly understated the terror acts and which severely exaggerated the prison sentence of Hamuda Saleh, one of the prisoners released last week.

The error and correction follow: On the eve of the Jewish New Year, the Los Angeles Times has published a correction noting that the fictional Judah Ben-Hur is a Jew from Judea, and not a "Palestinian nobleman" as reported. Spiegel Online commendably corrects a photo caption which had referred to "60 years of Israeli occupation," falsely implying that all of Israel is occupied territory and that the country has no right to exist.
The Israel office of CAMERA prompted Ha'aretz to correct an online news brief in English which had wrongly identified a Hamas man killed by Israeli forces as a "Palestinian civilian." The error and correction follow: CAMERA staff prompted a Washington Post correction for a news article which inaccurately blamed "Israeli intransigence" for the breakdown of President Obama's efforts to facilitate Israeli-Palestinian talks.
