In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. Following communication from CAMERA, CNN corrects an article on the Qatar crisis which wrongly referred to a new Hamas policy document as a "new charter," and which inflated unemployment in Gaza.
After CAMERA alerted a CNN anchor about her erroneous reference to Israel's approvals of "new settlements" in the West Bank, she makes clear that no new settlements have been built there for nearly two decades. CAMERA prompts correction of CNN's article today which claimed that presidential hopeful Scott Walker met with Werner Herzog on the Iran deal. Walker met with Israeli opposition leader Isaac Herzog, not German film director Werner.
CAMERA's Israel office ushers in the Jewish new year with a CNN correction of the false claim last week that Israel has "long called for [Bashar] al-Assad to step down." In response to correspondence from CAMERA staff, CNN editors correct an article which incorrectly reported that eastern Jerusalem had been annexed from "the Palestinian territories." Following communication from CAMERA staff, CNN has corrected and clarified inaccurate claims that a soccer star signed on to an inaccurate anti-Israel petition.
