Accuracy and accountability are among the most important tenets of journalism. In combination, they mean media organizations are expected to publish or broadcast forthright corrections after sharing inaccurate information. The following corrections are among the many prompted by CAMERA’s communication with reporters and editors.

 

Haaretz Corrects Mistranslation About Eritrean’s Death

CAMERA's Israel office prompts correction today of the latest mistranslation in Haaretz's English edition. The article incorrectly stated that an Eritrean asylum seeker was by "beaten to death" during an attack in Be'er Sheva.

Presspectiva Prompts Ha’aretz Correction on EU Plan

Presspectiva, CAMERA's Hebrew affiliate, today prompts Ha'aretz corrections in both English and Hebrew on a Moshe Arens Op-Ed which incorrectly stated that the EU's Horizon 2020 initiative would prohibit funding to Israeli scientists residing over the Green Line.

Ha’aretz on Prisoners: A Correction, and An Error

Following communication from CAMERA, Ha'aretz today corrects an article which had downgraded the life sentences of Palestinian prisoners. But a page-one photo caption also today whitewashes the murders carried out by the prisoners.
