The New York Times quotes a Hamas spokesperson claiming Gilad Shalit, unlike Palestinian prisoners in Israel, was treated well. Unmentioned is that the conditions of Shalit's detention voilated international law. 
As part of its general lopsided coverage of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the New York Times has stepped up its attacks on Israeli settlers. According to Jerusalem bureau chief Ethan Bronner, "for much of the world, the very presence of ... Israeli settlers in the West Bank amounts to a kind of violent crime." 
If people who target civilians in Norway are "terrorists," then by any consistent standard those who target civilians in Israel are "terrorists." If one is a "militant," objectivity and fairness would dictate that the other is also a "militant." 
Ha'aretz reporter Amira Hass, best known for her extreme hostility toward Israel, was provided a platform on CBC's "The Sunday Edition" with Michael Enright to spout her vitriol against the Jewish state. 
Now that Osama bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan by US forces, it is important for the media and the general public to remember just what triggered his anti-American obsession – it was United States support for Saudi Arabia, not Israel.

A journalist who manipulates every bit of breaking news to fit a favored narrative, as Karl Vick has done, is better suited for the most partisan of blogs. 
Once again, Hamas claims that harming children is against the group's policy, despite a long history of brutality targeting youngsters. Palestinian Authority officials also pile on the denials. Anti-Israel hatemongers pick up the signals and blame the Mossad for the Fogel murders.
