CAMERA Op-Ed: Arafat’s Incitement, Lies, and Videotape

In May, days before a Palestinian suicide terrorist murdered a score of Israelis, most of them young teenage girls, Yasir Arafat delivered yet another of his propaganda screeds, this time before the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Qatar. While repeatedly lauding Palestinians for "irrigating the land with their blood" in the struggle for "Palestine" he let loose a tirade of lies against Israel.

CAMERA Op-Ed: Reuters Roots For the Palestinians

If any of the victims in the recent Palestinian/Israeli fighting deserved especially sympathetic media coverage, surely it would be 10-month-old Shalhevet Pas, shot dead in her baby carriage on March 26 by a Palestinian sniper, while her father, who was wounded in the attack, and her mother, watched in horror.

Anti-Semitic Cartoon in the San Diego Union-Tribune

The San Diego Union-Tribune printed an op-ed by Yuval Rotem, Israel's Consul General to the Southwest, accompanied by a cartoon worthy of the notorious Nazi paperDer Sturmer. The cartoon, drawn by a freelancer according to the paper, showed an apparent murder victim on the ground with a large Jewish Star protruding from his back. Blood seemed to be flowing from the point where the Jewish Star was embedded in the victim's back.

Bamford Bashes Israel

Author James Bamford once again charges that Israel intentionally and knowingly attacked a US spy ship, the USS Liberty, during the 1967 Six Day War. Though he claims to have uncovered new evidence, the charges in Body of Secrets (Doubleday) directly parallel demonstrably false charges Bamford leveled in his earlier book, The Puzzle Palace. For this reason, neither Bamford's charges nor his "new evidence" deserve much credibility.
