Monitor Muddles Terrorism and Fence Building

A Christian Science Monitor article treats the Israeli victims of a terrorist attack as an afterthought. To the Monitor, the tragedy seems to be -- not that two civilians were killed -- but that the suicide bombers “threatened to undermine the Palestinian Authority’s campaign to stop Israel’s barrier.”

AP Calls Terror Organizations “Militias”

The Associated Press (AP) has adopted the word “militia” to refer to Palestinian terrorist groups such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. Not only are Hamas and Islamic Jihad on both the U.S. and U.N. list of international terrorist organizations, but all three share a platform of targeting and killing civilians.

His company's first produc is an 8-hour series about weapons of mass destruction and terrorism hosted by the venerable elder statesman of TV news, Walter Cronkite."The New Face of Terrorism: Upping the Ante" is the third film in the series which aired on four consecutive nights in April 2003 on PBS.

Daniszewski Works to Polish Syrian Image

In his Feb. 20 Los Angeles Times article entitled "Syria Works to Polish Its Image," correspondent John Daniszewski appears to have joined the official Syrian public relations campaign. The reporter obscures Syrian involvement in chemical and biological weapons, covers up the government's support for Hizballah and other terrorist groups, and distorts Syria's position vis-í -vis peace with Israel.

An Islamic extremist explodes a bomb amidst a crowd of civilians on March 4th, killing more than 20, including himself. Less than a day later another Islamic extremist explodes a bomb on a civilian bus, killing more than 15, including himself. Parallel stories, but not covered in a parallel way on National Public Radio.

CAMERA Op-Ed: Nightline Sanitizes Roots of Terror

Terrorist savagery against Israeli civilians, often in the form of suicidal, bomb-strapped Palestinians, has yet to elicit from most journalists and major media anything close to honest coverage of the true causes of the onslaught. Instead, vacuous explanations, ones that essentially repeat Arab arguments, prevail.
