CBS grossly overstated the Committee to Protect Journalists’ tally by reporting, “The Committee to Protect Journalists says more than 250 media workers have been killed in Gaza since the October 7th attacks.”
But that’s not what the data says. The report notes that 252 workers were killed in Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran — not just in Gaza as CBS stated — since the start of the war. CPJ’s own data indicated the terrorist affiliations of many of those “media workers,” and further analysis by CAMERA Arabic found that the list includes further propaganda operatives tied to designated terror groups, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah.
