Video: The world’s fate is driven by…Israel?!

The anti-Zionist mindset is an obsession that attributes all the world’s problems to a single root cause: a tiny country that happens to be the only one in the world with a Jewish majority, the only free country in the region, and that is home to 0.12% of the total world population.

“Israeli control” is not a serious argument. It’s a conspiracy theory.

Transcript:

Lewis Goodall: The entire fate of the world, and stability of the world, is constantly driven by the actions of Israel, that many people believe increasingly acts like something of a rogue state.

Wait…what? Is Lewis Goodall serious?

Lewis Goodall: Are we powerless in the West, in Britain, in Europe, in the United States, are we powerless increasingly to determine our own fate and the stability of the world? Because ultimately Israel is in the driving seat.

Apparently he is serious.

It’s a perfect example of the monomaniacal nature of the anti-Zionist mindset.

It attributes all the world’s problems to a single root cause: a tiny country that happens to be the only one in the world with a Jewish majority, the only free country in the region, and that is home to 0.12% of the total world population.

The caricature of an all-powerful Israel nefariously determining the world’s fate inescapably evokes the long history of toxic conspiratorial tropes about Jews or Israelis as an organic threat to peace and progress.

As antisemitism skyrockets in Britain and around the globe, it’s extremely disappointing when otherwise sober heads continue to be seduced by such conspiratorial thinking.
