The world of grand opera is not immune to the global spread of anti-Israel propaganda which manifests itself sometimes in the plot of a new opera and sometimes in a radical re-working of a venerable classic.
The New York Times quotes a Hamas spokesperson claiming Gilad Shalit, unlike Palestinian prisoners in Israel, was treated well. Unmentioned is that the conditions of Shalit's detention voilated international law.

Ha'aretz reporter Amira Hass, best known for her extreme hostility toward Israel, was provided a platform on CBC's "The Sunday Edition" with Michael Enright to spout her vitriol against the Jewish state. 
Now that Osama bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan by US forces, it is important for the media and the general public to remember just what triggered his anti-American obsession – it was United States support for Saudi Arabia, not Israel. 
Vittorio Arrigoni, terror tourist and International Solidarity Movement member, sought radical causes that would give his life meaning, and ended up befriending the extremist terrorists of Hamas. The murder of five members of the Fogel family in Itamar prompted familiar circumlocutions and evasions by The New York Times where the killing of Jews is concerned. Rather than call it a "terrorist attack"— the family was said to have been killed by "intruders." 
A journalist who manipulates every bit of breaking news to fit a favored narrative, as Karl Vick has done, is better suited for the most partisan of blogs.
